This guide to gardening was submitted by our stake leaders. It has some good information and great graphics. The one thing that is missing that is specific to Alpine residents, is direction on how to keep wildlife from eating your garden. Whether you use containers, grow boxes, or direct sew into the soil, you do need to protect your garden from deer, rodents, sometimes birds, and even insects. For those who are serious about making a garden work, there is a lot of really good information on line, and it is true that anyone can grow their own food if they want to.
